De Nederlandsche Bank (DNB) is responsible for safeguarding financial stability. The Amsterdam-based organisation works with countries that have introduced the Euro.
The DNB Visitors Centre - opposite the bank’s main building - enables visitors to learn about the economy and DNB’s areas of expertise. For instance, visitors can step into the shoes of an examining officer or decide whether to grant authority to financial institutions.
Soft Cells panels are used in the video room of the Visitors Centre, which holds up to 80 people. The textile upholstered on the Soft Cells panels have been printed with a timeline of the bank’s history.
Installed on the sides and back wall of the space, they create a comfortable acoustic environment. In doing so, they deal with the noise generated by people inside and outside the room, as well as from AV equipment.
Customised Soft Cells panels in the shape of gold bars are installed in the hallway outside the video room. These not only provide a good acoustic climate; they also provide a sense of fun: visitors are encouraged to come closer and touch them.
Kvadrat Soft Cells solved our three problems. We needed good acoustics, printed display possibilities and an acoustic solution in the shape of gold bar. They came with a 24-karat solution.
